The Divine Parade

Scripture Reading:  Luke 19:29-48

1.  Release your possession to the sovereign plan of Jesus (Divine Parade): verses 29-34

• Why? Because the Lord’s disciples asked for it. Because the Lord himself “needs” it. 
• Why not? You aren’t using it! It was as of yet unridden and unused by its’ owner.
• Luke 22:9-13, Jesus directs his disciples similarly to prepare for his observation of Passover. 

2.  Release yourself into the action and exhalation in worship! Verse 35-40

• A colt, some coats, and a crowd of merry men!
• What are the ingredients for worship? You really just need to have people who will participate!
• "Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted. Matthew 23:12,  “For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted." Luke 14:11
• Psalm 118:26
• Motivated by what they had witnessed him doing! The praise him as the King coming in the name of the Lord!
• Some Pharisees are repulsed & offended by this and demand that Jesus silence his followers.
• The cause will produce the effect! It is a natural response to the presence of greatness to worship! 

3.  Repent for resisting God’s invitation! Verses 41-48

• Hard Hearts: Sorrow in the heart of Jesus at the hardness of the people to God!
• Hidden Eyes: You cannot see what God will do because you would not see what God has done.
• Hollow Minds/Motives: 
• Hating Him to Death or Hanging on His Words: verses 47-48

So What?

• Give him your stuff
• Give him your self
• Give him your sin to be forgiven
• Get in the Parade
