​Expository Preaching: What Is It?

• An expositional sermon takes the main point of a passage of ____________, makes it the main point of the ___________, and applies it to life today.

Where Is It In the Bible?

• Levitical priests taught the law. (Deuteronomy 33:10)
• Ezra and the Levites read from the law and gave the sense of it. (Nehemiah 8:8)
• Peter & the apostles expounded Scripture, urging their hearers to repent and believe. (Acts 2)
• God condemns prophets who speak “from their own imaginations, not from the mouth of the Lord.” (Jer. 23:16; 18, 21-22)

I. God’s People Were Created by God’s Word
