Deeper Teaching (16:25)

• Jesus spoke in cryptic language but later promised to speak clearly after his resurrection.
• The disciples were not yet spiritually mature enough to handle deeper teaching.
  • 1 John 2:12-14 describes three levels of spiritual maturity:
    • Level 1: “Children” - Immature believers who are spiritual ______________.
    • Level 2: “Young Men” - Maturing believers who are the spiritual ______________.
    • Level 3: “Fathers” - Mature believers who know God as ______________.

Deeper Teaching (16:25)

• Jesus describes the gospel mission on which the Father sent him.

  • Now I am leaving the world: Jesus would die.
  • And going to the Father: Jesus would rise from the dead and ascend to heaven.

Destined Persecution (16:32)
