Experiencing God: His invitation for you to join in His work
Based upon the Workbook by Henry Blackaby Two weeks ago, we studied that God was always at work around us (read John 5:17, 19-20; who else is at work?) Last week we learned that God pursues a continuing love relationship with you that is real and personal (read Romans 3:10-12; who is seeks after God on his own?). This week we learn that when God reveals what He is doing, it is an invitation for us to join Him in His work (Exodus 3:1-14). As a family, reread these verses and review the sermon notes. Review the MEMORY VERSE (Exodus 3:14). Let’s hide the Word of God in our heart; also MEMORIZE John 15:5, MEDITATE, what does the verse say to you? Pray for understanding. Review, Review, Review! DISCUSS: What did I learn in the Sunday School lesson and the sermon about experiencing God through His invitation to join Him in His work? Many Scripture passages describe Jesus as God’s Servant. If you want to be a servant of God, perhaps we should look to Jesus as our role model. Discuss a story about Jesus that you already know that would show Jesus in role of a servant. Read Phil. 2:5-8 and Matt. 20:26-28 what would be your family’s definition of a servant? After reading these two passages of Scripture, do you think you should be a servant? Read Jer. 18:1-6 twice and discuss the role of the clay and how that would relate to being a servant. Encourage all family members to talk about the relationship between the potter and the clay. THIS WEEK: How can you and your family be servants this week?
